IEC makes safety one of its core values so that members can keep themselves, their workers, and their businesses healthy and safe. To keep safety at the forefront with its members, IEC has developed a top-notch safety program.

As part of this program, IEC has developed many safety-related tools and resources, such as the Toolbox Talks, the Jobsite Safety Handbook and the Safety Manual Guidelines, which help IEC members train their workers to become knowledgeable about safety and help reduce injuries on the jobsite. To learn more about these tools and resources, please visit the navigation bar above.

IEC has formed an Alliance with the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to help prevent workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities. Together with OSHA, IEC helps develop compliance assistance tools, spread communication to the electrical industry on workplace hazards and hazard prevention, and promote involvement in OSHA's cooperative program. More information is also available on the navigation bar at right.

IEC-CNA Safety Award

The IEC-CNA Safety Award is viewed as the elite safety award for the industry, recognizing those companies that excel in multiple areas of their safety program. Winners have taken their safety program to the highest standards and have shown upper management/owner commitment, high employee involvement, active participation throughout the company and effective controls over major exposures to loss.

This award is given out in five different categories, based on company size. Award winners are presented with a professional quality IEC-CNA Safety Award, a press release to share with local media, and an electronic "Safety Award Winner" icon for use on any publication, website or promotion.
