160 hours of related training instruction per apprenticeship year
8000 hours of on-the-job training after 4 years.
Must score 75% or higher to advance to next level of education.
At the end of the 4th year apprenticeship, arrangements are made for the journeyman exam.

Class Schedule

Classes begin the week of August 24, 2020


They are held one night a week from 5:30 pm-9:30 pm


Mandatory Orientation Webinar (via Zoom)

1st year*  Thursday, August 13 from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm

*individual invitations to join will be sent

1st year book distribution will be held at the IEC Office 

Thursday, August 20 from 7:00 am-7:00 pm 

1st year students, please bring your required documentation with you (see list below). There will be additional enrollment forms to be completed at this time.

If you are currently employed by an electrical contractor complete this application. 

Minimum Application Requirements

  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age


  • Must have valid driver license or other form of government ID


  • High School Diploma/GED/High School Equivalency


  • Proof of residency, if not a US citizen


  • Applicant must be able to read and write English


  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the trade


  • Interview requirements for 1st Year Students

Plan to bring the following with you on your assigned book distribution day on Thursday, August 13 from 7:00am-7:00pm:


  • Driver’s License or other Government ID

  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Social Security card or Proof of Residency for non-citizens

  • Bypass Exam supporting documents, if applicable

  • Post-Secondary Adult Vocational (PSAV) certificate, if applicable
