Founded in 1957 as the Associated Independent Electrical Contractors of America, IEC is a trade association of approximately 4,000-member companies, 90,000 electrical workers, over 11,000 apprentices in nearly 50 chapters throughout the US. Its mission is to develop and foster a stronger economy through the level of quality and services its members provide to the industry. to foster cooperative action in advancing the common purposes of its members; and promote activities that enable the industry to be conducted with the greatest economy and efficiency.
