This full day class will cover the basic principles of Electrical Estimating and Project Management. You will learn the responsibilities of each position and the relationship/teamwork required to be successful.
Prerequisites: Blueprint reading or 4+ years of work in the field
This course is designed for experienced Service Electricians, Foreman, Project Managers and Estimators
This Course will cover:
- Estimating tools and aids
- Understanding blueprints
- Steps to a successful & profitable bid
- Plan & Spec, Design/Build bid projects as well as Time & Material
- Labor Units and Material Cost
- Uncovering all true cost to show a profit at bid time
- Writing a professional proposal
- Reviewing Contracts
- Breaking down the estimate to cost codes for tracking time and materials
- How to prepare change orders
- Procuring labor and materials
- Job closeout: as-builts, panel schedules, punch list, O&M’s
- Collecting retention money
